ABout the Academy
Mike Grimsted, an Internationally accredited BMW Motorrad Instructor, is the owner and instructor at Boulders Lodge.
We cater to all riders from novice right through to advanced riders.
Boulders Lodge is the perfect backdrop for training. Situated in the Maluti mountains between Clarens and Fouriedberg, only 9km from the Lesotho Border.
Training courses are offered regularly throughout the year. We also offer Guided out-rides in and around Lesotho ranging from half-day adventures to multi-day adventure tours. See our Calendar for dates
We at Boulders Adventure Academy are privileged enough to be able to take you on rides generally not accessible by the general public. All are welcome, and should you pass by, take the time out to pop in for a chat and coffee. Mike will only be too happy to show you around, and you may even have the opportunity to do some riding.
Never ridden gravel before?
Don’t worry, you can drive all the way up to our front door on the Tar. No need to ride dirt before you have learned to do so!

In 2020 Brandon Grimsted joined the International South African team at the GS TROPHY in New Zealand. Along with his teammates, B J Vosloo, Cobus Theron, and Byron Coetzee, they brought home the trophy for the 3rd time in Succession.

Before the trophy in New Zealand, the South African team spent many happy hours exploring the beautiful trails in and around Boulders. This is the perfect place to push yourself to your limits and ride more technical terrain.
